Datang International Zhangjiakou Power Plant is a core thermal power enterprise under China Datang Corporation Ltd. Located in Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province, it has a total installed capacity of 2,560 MW, comprising eight 320 MW coal-fired generating units. As a key backbone power plant in the North China Grid, it serves as a major power source for the Beijing-Tianjin-Tangshan power grid.
Due to its scale and critical position in the grid, it is often referred to within the industry as one of the "important power supply bases for the capital, Beijing."
Although the power plant commenced operations relatively early, it has continuously undergone large-scale technical upgrades. For instance, environmental protection facilities such as desulfurization, denitrification, and dust removal have been retrofitted for all units to meet increasingly stringent emission standards and promote green, low-carbon transformation.
Datang International Zhangjiakou Power Plant is a typical large-scale backbone thermal power plant in China. It has played and continues to play an indispensable role in ensuring power supply. Simultaneously, against the backdrop of China's energy structure transition, it exemplifies how traditional thermal power enterprises actively pursue technological transformation, environmental upgrades, and role redefinition. It represents both the achievements of the previous energy era and is now confronting the challenges and opportunities of the new era.
The discharge electrodes replaced during the 2021 maintenance were supplied by Hebei Dawei Environmental Protection Equipment Technology Co., Ltd. and have been operating stably for five years to date.
